ACUPUNCTURE IS JUST ONE TOOL IN AN L.AC.’S BELT. THESE HOLISTIC HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS ARE TRAINED IN TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE (TCM) WHICH INCLUDES THE MODALITIES OF ACUPUNCTURE, BODY WORK, CUPPING, GUA SHA (SCRAPING), ELECTRICAL STIMULATION, HERBAL FORMULATION, AND MORE. GUIDING THE EMPLOYMENT OF THESE TRADE CRAFTS IS A SYSTEM BASED ON THE TWO OPPOSING FORCES OF YIN AND YANG. HARMONIZING THE TWO IN THE BODY IS ACHIEVED BY AFFECTING THE FLOW OF QI (OFTEN TRANSLATED AS ENERGY) RUNNING IN PATHWAYS KNOWN AS MERIDIANS. THIS ANCIENT PRACTICE HAS RECEIVED INCREASING ATTENTION IN THE WEST IN THE LAST DECADE AS STUDIES CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THAT REGULAR ACUPUNCTURE IS A COST EFFECTIVE WAY TO HEAL THE BODY AND PREVENT DISEASE.
My heartfelt desire is to inspire the public about the benefits of a holistic approach to treat chronic illness and the advantages of Oriental Medicine in providing support for optimum health and longevity.
At its most basic, Traditional Chinese Medicine is about bringing the body, mind and spirit back into balance so that it can heal itself. Acupuncture stimulates the body’s energies to balance, and herbs gently help the body to make and keep that change.
I have personally experienced how small changes over time can make big difference in bringing your health to its optimum. This is possible no matter what your age is.
I am in awe of how well acupuncture and herbs can transform health challenges, strengthen your health, and relieve stress and anxiety.
